SFCM (50 Oak St., Caroline H. Hume Concert Hall)
In association with San Francisco Conservatory of Music
Brazilian master Yamandu Costa completely embodies the music that he plays. The 7 string virtuoso last appeared in San Francisco with bandoneon player Richard Scofano, and now returns for a solo concert at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Yamandu is a “once in a generation” artist, and we are thrilled to present him once again!
YAMANDU COSTA
“You have to listen to Yamandu / with his light guitar / it seems like he’s in a rush / but it’s just a lot of swing / and hump and pulse throughout the body…” (Gilberto Gil – from the 2018 album OK, OK, OK)
“Musicians of this caliber that make you fall out of your seat come once in a generation.” (La Presse Montreal)
