Scott Tennant is a founding member of the the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, the GRAMMY-winning ensemble composed entirely of alumni of the USC Thornton School of Music, and is himself considered to be one of the world’s top classical guitarists. During his student years at USC (1980-1986), he studied with Pepe Romero, James Smith and was a chosen performer in the USC Segovia Masterclasses of
1981 and 1986. He has authored several books and articles on guitar technique, including the best-seller Pumping Nylon, which has attained a “cult” classic status. It has become a standard text in conservatory and university guitar programs around the world.

Tennant has made numerous recordings as a soloist on the GHA, Delos and GSP labels, and with the LAGQ he has recorded for GHA, Delos, Sony Classical, Windham Hill, Deutsche Grammophon and Telarc labels. Their Telarc release LAGQ Latin was nominated for a Grammy award, and it was their current Telarc title LAGQ’s Guitar Heroes that won a Grammy as the best classical crossover recording of 2005. Tennant is best known for his performances of Spanish music, and his recordings of the music of Joaquín Rodrigo.

Jack, age 15, studies with Christopher Mallett at the California Conservatory of Music. As a solo artist, Jack has won prizes at the 2019, 2018 and 2016 Guitar Foundation of America International Youth Competitions, as well as first prize in the junior divisions of the 2018 Columbus State University Guitar Competition, the 2017 Indiana International Guitar Competition,JackDavisson_680the 2017 Boston GuitarFest Competition, and the 2016 United States International Music Competition.  As duo artists, Jack and his sister Elle, aka the Davisson Duo, were prize winners at the 2017 and 2018 GFA Small Ensemble Youth Competitions.  They were also featured in Classical Guitar Magazine’s Sunday Prodigy series and on NPR’s From the Top (Show 361-Brunswick, Maine).

Jack has had the honor of opening concerts by  such luminaries as David Russell, Marc Teicholz, Kazuhito Yamashita, and Raphaella Smits and performed in masterclasses with Manuel Barrueco, Ben Verdery, David Russell, Nicholas Goluses, and Marcus Tardelli, among others.

Elle, who just turned 13, has been playing the classical guitar since the age of 4.  Elle was a prize winner at the 2019 Guitar Foundation of America International Youth Competition, the 2018 Junior Bach Festival, the 2017 Indiana International Guitar Competition, the 2017 Boston GuitarFest Competition, and the 2018 United States International Music Competition.  Elle has had masterclasses with and opened for some of the greatest luminaries of the classical guitar world, including David Russell, Marc Teicholz, Kazuhito Yamashita,Ben Verdery, Marcus Tardelli and Raphaella Smits.ElleDavisson_680

Not just a classical guitarist, Elle is also an avid soccer player, pin collector and small business owner.  Elle studies with Christopher Mallett at the California Conservatory of Music.
